Subperiosteal implants.

Subperiosteal implants are specifically designed to precisely match the contours of the jawbone.

They take the form of a metal framework or grid structure, often compared to an exoskeleton. Made from medical-grade titanium, they are manufactured using 3D printing technology based on the patient’s tomographic data.

This approach enables the production of a custom-made implant, perfectly tailored to the patient’s anatomy, ensuring optimal stability and improved integration.

  • 🔎 This week, let’s focus on the 2nd pillar of the HUG concept: implant anodization.

Anodization involves creating a controlled oxide layer on titanium through an electrolytic process.
But why the pink color?

This shade, which is complex to achieve, offers the best performance in terms of osseointegration:

Improved blood compatibility
Optimized bone growth
Enhanced bonding between bone and the implant surface
Moreover, being close to the natural color of the gum, it significantly reduces aesthetic impact in case of tissue recession!

  • We developed the HUG®️ subperiosteal implant in collaboration with Biotech Dental®️. 🦷✨
It makes it possible to treat cases of severe bone atrophy without bone grafting and in a single procedure.

But HUG®️ is much more than a subperiosteal implant — it’s an innovative concept, from the design and engineering of the implant to its implementation by the dental surgeon.

This concept is based on 9 pillars with a single objective: achieving the best possible tissue integration! 💪🦴

Each week, you’ll discover a pillar of this concept.

This week: A CUSTOM DESIGNED IMPLANT TO PROMOTE BONE GROWTH 🦷

Growing bone inside a titanium structure is a real challenge.
That’s why many morphologies are being studied, and among them, Gyroid lattice structures, already used in orthopedic and maxillofacial surgery, provide the best results in terms of:
✅ Cell penetration
✅ Bone growth
✅ Osseointegration

  • 🦷 Complete Mandibular Rehabilitation with HUG Subperiosteal Implant

This 74-year-old patient presented with severe mandibular atrophy.
Only three residual teeth remained, which were extracted prior to the procedure.
Clinical and radiological examinations revealed minimal residual bone, with the inferior alveolar canal flush with the crest and a highly irregular mandibular symphysis.

Given this situation of extreme atrophy, we opted for treatment with a HUG subperiosteal implant, fabricated in three parts and then connected with a definitive bridge featuring a titanium framework — placed on the same day as the surgery.

This innovative technique allowed the patient to transition from a state of severe mandibular atrophy to immediate functional and aesthetic rehabilitation, with a definitive, load-bearing bridge in place at the end of the procedure.

🔎 This week, let’s focus on the 2nd pillar of the HUG concept: implant anodization.

📌 Stay tuned next week to discover the 3rd pillar of the HUG concept !

We developed the HUG®️ subperiosteal implant in collaboration with Biotech Dental®️.

🦷 Complete Mandibular Rehabilitation with HUG Subperiosteal Implant
